Sports in the Square is a new monthly pop‑up series hosted by the University Sports Service in Eddington Square.

Each month, the whole community is invited to drop in and try a variety of sports. Rotating monthly, a range of racquet and ball sports will be free for people to try. The aim is to welcome residents, neighbours and visitors to try new sports and to meet others in the community whilst promoting an active lifestyle.

The friendly team from the University Sports Centre will be on hand to help you get started and answer questions about each activity. They can also provide information about a range of ways to get involved in sport and physical activity including Sports Centre membership, health checks, and their future plans for new facilities at Eddington and Cambridge West.

The event is free to attend and no booking is required.

Dates & Times
Sports in the Square runs on the second Saturday of every month from April to September 2026, 10am–2pm.
• 11 April (Pickleball)
• 16 May* (Netball)
• 13 June (Football)
• 11 July (Tennis)
• 8 August (Summer garden games)
• 12 September (Padel / Squash)

*May will take place on the third Saturday as an exception.
