Rhythms in the Landscape Festival

There are several events happening at the Storey’s Field Centre as part of the Rhythms in the Landscape Festival.
Friday 19th July, 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Kathakali Dance: Kathakali is a masterpiece of sacred theatre that erupts on stage with striking visual images that expose the magical world of South India. Nurtured for centuries by the remarkable people of Kerala, Kathakali leads the audience into the entrancing world of storytelling.
Arunima Kumar is one of India’s most accomplished award winning Kuchipudi dancer, teacher and a choreographer. She believes that Indian classical arts have the power to transcend nationalities and are timeless.
Sunday 21st July, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
Yoga for Body, Breath and Mind with Tina Rawal. Tina is a BWY Diploma accredited yoga teacher. Her continuing education is shared with all her students through her love of yogic text and chanting. Her goal is to create space and stillness in body, mind and heart.
Sunday 21st July, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Upahaar School of Dance was founded by Shalini Shivashankar with the simple desire to share the joy experienced from expressing and communicating through dance. Upahaar will present a dance recital of Mohini Attam.
Parbati Chaudhury is a performer and teacher specialising in Kathak, whose training continues with UrjaDesai Thakore.
Elena Catalano has established herself as one of the finest Odissi dancers in this country. She has extensively trained under Guru SujataMohapatra, and furthered her performance and musical skills under Guru Madhavi Mudghal and the Nrityagram Dance Ensemble.
