Indus Festival 2019

Storey’s Field Centre is hosting a series of activities for the Indus Festival 2019.
Indian Classical Music: Friday 1st March, 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm. We open the Indus Festival with the Indian classical music courtesy of the flute and sitar duo of Nitin Amin and Jonathan Mayer.
Children’s Indian Drumming Workshop: Sunday 3rd March, 3:00 pm – 5:15 pm. An Indian Drumming Workshop will immerse young children in the history of this art form, which stretches back many thousands of years.
Words, Music and Poetry: Sunday 3rd March, 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm. Musicians, poets and writers to discuss and perform Indian music.
Songs of the Mystics: Friday 15th March, 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm. The Qawwali repertoire features pieces in a number of different languages, with the classical period mostly focused on works in North Indian dialects like Brajbhasha and Awadhi.
Khyal Vocaland Gems From Bengal: Sunday 17th March, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. North Indian classical music, and Hindustani, Bengali and Carnatic music.
Indian Classical Dance: Sunday 17th March, 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm. Performances of Bharatanatyam Dance and Kathak Dance.
