Step into the season of merriment at Eddington’s Winter Warmer!

Join us in the heart of our thriving community as a pop-up festive village appears welcoming friends, families and colleagues to Eddington Square.

Home to a charming lodge bar, you’ll enjoy the winter air while sipping on a variety of drinks that warm the cockles including mulled wine and cider, boozy hot chocolate, and a range of non-alcoholic beverages.

Take the opportunity to indulge in hearty Yorkshire wraps, German sausages, hot chestnuts, and homemade crumble desserts to truly immerse yourself in the holiday mood.

Then discover the perfect gift as you meander through the market stalls offering bespoke arts, crafts, and tasty goods from local, independent traders. All while enjoying the flurry of seasonal entertainment and a children’s funfair!

Saturday 30th November 2024: 12:00 – 21:00 (market and children’s funfair until 18:00)

You can also enjoy extra magic at the Knights Park Festive Market on Saturday 30th November from 12pm-4pm at Turing Locke and Hyatt Centric Hotel, Eddington.

 

ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE

 

Friday 29th November

6pm – Eddington Community Sing-A-Long
New Life Church will kick off the event with some community-led Carols. Experience the Square in a festive light, with a mulled drink in hand, and get ready for a good old-fashioned sing-a-long!

7:30pm – Isle ‘ave a Shanty
Ely-based Sea Shanty sensations Isle ‘Ave a Shanty is a unique band specialising in traditional sea shanties and folk songs, inviting lively audience participation for a fun, interactive musical experience.

 

Saturday 30th November

12:30pm – 2pm – Elsa and Anna Meet and Greet

Do you want to build a snowman? Well the weather for Eddington’s Winter Warmer is looking merry and bright so the only Frozen experience this weekend will be a visit from Elsa and Anna! They will meet and greet big and small fans alike – a perfect photo opportunity!

1pm & 2pm – CSD Brass

CSD Brass is proud to be Cambridge’s premier non-contesting traditional brass band. As a community band, they focus on making music together, to a high standard, in a supportive and inclusive environment.

3pm – Coton Morris

Hear those ringing bells? It’s not Santa just yet but our merry band of Morris dancers! This inclusive mixed Cotswold Morris side based in the Cambridge and South Fens area is ready to bring their infectious energy to the event.

4pm – 7pm – LED light performer

As the sun goes down our LED hula-hooping performer will light up the night sky with their dazzling display of colour and movement.

4:30pm – Sean O’Hanrahan

Singer-Songwriter and Pianist, Sean O’Hanrahan joins us with his distinctive piano magic. From nuanced accompaniment to phenomenal improvisation, Sean’s playing will surely add a festive twinkle to the air.

7pm – Festive Quiz

Do you know what was the highest-grossing Christmas movie of all time? Could you tell us what the best-selling Christmas single ever is? Then join us at the lodge bar for a pub-style quiz with a seasonal twist!

 

Sunday 1st December

12:30pm – Orphean Sprig

An instrumental folk band with a shared passion for the traditional music of Scotland. Comprising a guitar, three fiddles, and occasional viola, they explore arrangements of traditional, contemporary, and self-penned tunes, creating a rich texture and original sound.

2pm – Sam Herbert

Sam is a Singer, Pianist, Choir Director, Performer, and Rock Choir Leader for the Cambridge area. In his fun, upbeat performance style he will be ringing out both festive and popular tunes across Eddington Square.

5pm – Eddington’s Community Orchestra

Wrapping up the festive entertainment at this year’s event will be Eddington’s Community Orchestra over at Storey’s Field Centre.
