The art of calligraphy is enjoying its moment in the limelight again with a surge in public interest.
Research by University College London has shown calligraphy can improve our mental well being, relieve stress and raise our self esteem.
Gain the skills to design the most beautiful Christmas gift tags at Turing Locke this December.
The workshop will cover the basics of pointed pen calligraphy, starting from how to prepare your pen and nib, through to learning the basic shapes that make up each and every letter of the alphabet.
Once you’re familiar with how to join the shapes together to create letters, you’ll see how to join these together to create words, and by the end of the workshop you’ll be armed with the confidence to go away and create your own beautiful words.
At the workshop you will receive your own calligraphy start kit which includes a pen holder, nibs, ink, worksheets and spare paper to practice on, and a luxury blank card, envelope and gift tag for you to put your new skills into practice.
