The Story So Far
Eddington is a vibrant, highly sustainable and diverse new residential community which has been delivered by the University of Cambridge and its development partners.
In 2013, we received outline planning consent which enabled us to deliver an award-winning scheme that included the first phase of new homes alongside community facilities and vital infrastructure.
With the first phase now being delivered, we’re ready to bring forward our development proposals for future phases of North West Cambridge, which will be located on the land north, west and east of Eddington’s first phase.
The first phase was launched in 2015 and we continue to deliver homes as part of phase one, which includes:
- 686 affordable homes for University and College staff
- 1,152 market homes for the community
- 325 post-graduate student rooms
- Three form entry University of Cambridge Primary School
- Eddington Nursery Storey’s Field Centre
- Retail units, including a Sainsbury’s supermarket
- Hotel
- Green space, including landscaped parks integrated into the Sustainable Urban Drainage System and sports pitches
