Trustees sought for the Storey's Field Community Trust

The Storey’s Field Centre, located at the heart of Eddington, opened in 2018 and plays a vital role in supporting a vibrant cultural and social life for the communities it serves. Designed to reflect the aspirations of those communities, the Centre aims to inspire wellbeing, connection and participation.

The Storey’s Field Community Trust (“the Trust”) is a charitable company responsible for overseeing the running of the Centre. Although the University of Cambridge is the sole sponsor of the Trust and provides day-to-day administrative and operational support, the trustees are independently responsible for the Trust’s governance and act solely in its best interests.

About the role

The Trust is seeking enthusiastic volunteer trustees, independent of the University, to join its small and committed board. Trustees play a key role in ensuring the long-term resilience of the Centre and the continued provision of high-quality services for the community.

The Trust welcomes expressions of interest from people in the local community and beyond. It would be particularly pleased to hear from individuals with experience in:

the management or governance of community venues
cultural organisations
community engagement or related fields

Time commitment and support

The board meets every two months, with meetings lasting approximately 90 minutes. Papers are circulated in advance, and there may be occasional business between meetings requiring attention. Training and ongoing support are provided to help trustees carry out this important role with confidence.
