Success for Eddington at Cambridge Design and Construction Awards 2017
The University of Cambridge’s North West Cambridge Development saw huge success at the Cambridge Design and Construction Awards 2017, taking five top honours.
The North West Cambridge Development is one of the University of Cambridge’s largest capital projects.
The heart of the development, called Eddington, opened in Summer 2017, and focusses on establishing the residential community which includes accommodation for University and College key workers, post-graduate students and spaces for the community.
Eddington’s awards included:
- Best New Neighbourhood
- Best Engineering and Sustainability Project
- Works In Progress for the Phase One contractors
- Best Large Building for Ryle Yard, designed by Maccreanor Lavington and Witherford Watson Mann
- Craftsmanship Award for Graham Construction working on Swirles Court
Swirles Court which is part of Girton College, designed by R H Partnership, was also Highly Commended in the Best Engineering and Sustainability Project category.
Eddington consultant Joel Gustafsson, of Max Fordham, also took top prize as Young Professional of the Year.
