Popular independent bakery Dulcedo plans expansion in Eddington

Eddington’s popular bakery and patisserie, Dulcedo is growing. Following their success in the neighbourhood, the independent retailer will take a flagship space in Eddington Square for Dulcedo Social, a new café and meeting place for the community to enjoy.

Opening in Winter 2023/24, Dulcedo Social will be a new dining location where all of the food is produced by the team of talented bakers and chefs. Building on the success of their bakery, Dulcedo Social will be open throughout the day and offer an evolving menu that includes breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner service. A gelato parlour and dessert kitchen will also be a highlight amongst the local community and foodie scene that showcases the team’s creative flair.

Dulcedo owner Andrew Hunter commented: “Our ambition for Dulcedo Social is to offer a great social and dining experience through our evolving food offer. Seasonal foods, relaxed bistro menus, and formal meals are all part of our plans to keep things interesting for our customers.”

The next chapter for Dulcedo comes after a three year period in Eddington Square where the team have been serving the community daily with artisan bread, cakes and local produce.

Reflecting on Dulcedo’s journey, Andrew said: “We feel truly cemented in the community at Eddington, having been supported by the University of Cambridge to further establish our business during a period of uncertainty. We have grown and flourished into the neighbourhood and we can’t wait to fulfil this original ambition and offer a great place for people to experience great food.”
