New playground at Eddington opens

Milne Gardens playground has now opened to the community. The generously sized play and recreation area is located in the northern part of Eddington in the residential neighbourhood close to family homes.

Featuring a range of play equipment including swings and slides, a stand-out colourful climbing wall, playful moguls and mini-trails, Milne Gardens is a fantastic place for families and the wider community to enjoy.

To mark the occasion, Portal Estate Management sponsored a community celebration on Saturday 13 July from 1-4pm. Complete with a welcoming balloon arch, free ice-creams, bunting, bubbles and music, residents and neighbours were invited for a wonderful stay-and-play gathering where many members of the community; young and young-at-heart, enjoyed the afternoon.

Matt Johnson, Head of Development for North West Cambridge at the University of Cambridge commented: “We are delighted to open another fantastic community facility in Eddington to support our growing neighbourhood. Playgrounds and open spaces are vital places that support the community cohesion and are an important part of the University’s long-term commitment to creating a vibrant and active place. Milne Gardens Playground is now open and can be accessed from Milne Avenue in Eddington.
