Laughter, music & good company: Eddington Beer Garden is back this May
Eddington’s flagship pop-up event returns this May, bringing the community together over three days for refreshing drinks, street food and free live entertainment in the heart of Eddington Square, 8–10 May 2026.
Now in its fourth year and firmly established as a favourite in the Eddington calendar, the Beer Garden returns this Spring. Over three days in Eddington Square, residents and visitors are welcome to enjoy laughter, music and good company as the pop-up brings the community together in the heart of the neighbourhood. Entry is free.
The main bar, run by Cambridge Event Bars, will pour craft beverages and cask ales from local breweries including Papworth Brewery, Brewboard, Three Blind Mice, Pastore Brewery and Burnt Mill, while The Little Mobile Bar Company returns with their exquisite gins and pimped prosecco. For those not drinking alcohol, the low-and-no offering includes bubble tea on Friday and mocktails on Saturday and Sunday.
This year’s food truck lineup serves up a range of global cuisines, with something different to discover each day. Highlights include Wrapunzel and their slow-roasted meats piled into giant Yorkshire puddings, The Noodle & Dumpling Bar with their award-winning Asian street food, Pig-Casso’s slow-smoked BBQ, Manna Seoul’s Korean fried chicken and kimchi fries, Taste of Cambridge’s gourmet falafel wraps, and Sunday newcomers Gnawty Bites (Aussie-style toasted jaffles) and Scotties Hot Scotch Eggs. Sweet tooths are well catered for throughout, with Churros Bar and Ice Cream Dreams on hand every day for something sweet.
The free live music programme features an eclectic mix of local acts across all three days. Friday night sees award-winning pop-folk vocalist George Bone and surf-rock outfit The Surfisticats. Saturday opens with acoustic duo Tamsin and Jesse performing stripped-down rock, folk and alternative covers, before electro-pop artist Darsy, singer-songwriter Christian Smith, Melody Causton and Cambridge Folk Festival preview act Fran Lusty, and alternative covers trio Allergy take to the stage. Sunday includes Jumping Jemma’s Children’s Disco, folk-soul singer-songwriter Daria Mirea, Fragile Lucy, and jazz supergroup Cong Fusion, who bring Afro-Cuban, Latin, funk, soul and acid-jazz to close out the weekend.
In partnership with the Cambridge Folk Festival, attendees can also enter an on-site selfie competition for the chance to win two 1-day tickets to the Cambridge Folk Festival. The winner can choose to attend on either 1st or 2nd August 2026.
Biky Wan, Eddington’s Marketing Manager for the University of Cambridge, commented: “We’re thrilled to be celebrating the fourth year of the Eddington Beer Garden – an event that has truly cemented itself as a highlight of our community calendar. We are creating a vibrant neighbourhood for people to socialise and connect through our dynamic placemaking programme, and this weekend is a wonderful expression of that. The event is open to all and we can’t wait to welcome residents and visitors for another fantastic weekend.”
Eddington Beer Garden will be open on Friday 8 May 4pm – 10pm, Saturday 9 May noon – 10pm, and Sunday 10 May noon – 6pm. Entry is free; visitors are asked to register in advance so organisers can ensure the best experience for all.
