As we are sure visitors can appreciate, it is difficult to plan for an event where guidelines are not fully in place. Therefore we are planning for a socially distanced day with all events taking place outdoors. Should it be possible to relax measures closer to the event, we shall do so.
Additional key safety measures will also include:
- We are providing sufficient space and systems to allow for 2m social distancing from people not in their household or bubble (if still needed).
- We encourage people to pre-book events wherever possible and pre-booking is required for some activities.
- There may be one-way and queuing systems in certain areas.
- Face coverings may be required in certain areas.
- There will be plenty of additional hand washing facilities and cleaning systems.
We shall continue to pay close attention to government guidance, the progress of the roadmap and review our plans and pledge to continue to keep people updated.
How to get here
The free event will be held at Eddington’s Market Square, CB3 1SE. We encourage sustainable modes of travel wherever possible.
Eddington is a 10 minute cycle ride from Cambridge city centre and there will be ample cycle parking available for cyclists on the day. Cyclists and pedestrians can get to Eddington via the Ridgeway, a cycle and pedestrian route from Storey’s Way and Horsechestnut Avenue, and from Huntingdon Road and Madingley Road.
Eddington is only 20 minutes away from the centre of Cambridge by bus. The Universal Bus route goes to Eddington from Addenbrooke’s, Cambridge station, the city centre and West Cambridge.
We have limited parking available on site and we discourage driving where possible. There are a number of disabled parking bays for users displaying a Blue Badge. Additional parking is available at Madingley Road Park and Ride. For full information on parking at Eddington please click here.
