Eddington's Winter Warmer

Step into the season of merriment at Eddington’s Winter Warmer, a pop-up event in Eddington Square on Friday 29th November – Sunday 1st December 2024.

The heart of this thriving community will be transformed into a festive village during this three-day outdoor event, complete with a charming lodge bar, hearty winter food, market stalls offering bespoke gifts, a children’s funfair, and a flurry of seasonal entertainment.

Connecting people while supporting local businesses and organisations is key to nurturing our vibrant community, and we are thrilled to bring seasonal festivities to the neighbourhood for all to enjoy.”

Following Eddington’s successful inaugural festive event last year, and the hugely popular Beer Garden and Sports and Social events earlier in 2024, the organisers return with this reimagined winter event, welcoming the community to come together to celebrate the season in the centre of the neighbourhood.

The enchanting lodge bar will serve as the heart of the festivities, inviting guests to gather under the stars while savouring mulled wine, craft beers, or spiced cider. For those preferring a non-alcoholic option, there’s a delightful selection of hot apple juice and seasonal mocktails to enjoy.

A feast for the senses awaits visitors to the event with a tempting array of warming foods including authentic German Sausages and Yorkshire Wraps, homemade desserts, freshly baked waffles and pastries, and the ever-popular indulgent hot chocolate.

Adding to the festive charm, a bustling market will pop up over the weekend, featuring 24 local, independent craft traders each day. From beautifully crafted candles to handmade crochet items, creative ceramics to local artisan wines and spirits, one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces to notebooks bound using traditional methods – there’s something special to be found for all.

Entertainment throughout the event will celebrate the talents of the local community with returning act CSD Brass Band, Ely-based Sea Shanty sensations Isle ‘Ave a Shanty, and enchanting ivory tinkler Sean O’ Hanrahan. A carol sing-a-long and a traditional pub-style festive quiz will also take place to get everyone in the holiday mood. Adding to the excitement, there will be a children’s funfair for little ones to enjoy.

Eddington’s Winter Warmer will be open on Friday 29th November 2024: 16:00 – 21:00 (no market or children’s funfair on this day), Saturday 30th November 2024: 12:00 – 21:00 (market and children’s funfair until 18:00) and Sunday 1st December 2024: 12:00 – 21:00 (market and children’s funfair until 18:00). Entry is free but guests are encouraged to register in advance so that the organisers can provide the best experience possible.

Visitors can also enjoy extra magic at the Knights Park Festive Market on Saturday 30th November from 12:00-16:00 at Turing Locke and Hyatt Centric Hotel, Eddington.
