Eddington Nursery now accepting applications

The Eddington Nursery which sits at the heart of the University of Cambridge’s new district in the City is now accepting applications from families for its first intake. The nursery building has already won architectural awards from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and is preparing to open in Autumn 2018 as a facility for both the University and local community.

Sue Davis, Manager of Childcare Services at the University of Cambridge, said: “As a purpose-built facility for babies and toddlers, the Eddington Nursery combines colour, shapes and natural light from the architecture and the surrounding play spaces to create a very special place. We are looking forward to opening this stunning new facility this September.”

The University of Cambridge has selected Bright Horizons Family Solutions as the preferred operator of the new Eddington Nursery.

The Eddington Nursery will be open to children of University staff and students as well as the wider community. For application information please refer to the following:

The Eddington Nursery together with the Storey’s Field Centre has won a National RIBA Award after successfully collecting three RIBA East Awards including ‘Building of the Year’ for the region.

Eddington comprises 700 homes for key University staff, Swirles Court – a post-graduate student complex for 325 students, and facilities to support the local community, including the Storey’s Field Centre, University of Cambridge Primary School, Sainsbury’s supermarket, parklands, play areas and sports fields, as well as infrastructure to support connectivity for the development.
