New crossings improve walking and cycling at Eddington
Residents, visitors and commuters can now benefit from improved pedestrian and cycling connections across Eddington following the completion of new highway infrastructure works within the North West Cambridge development.
The improvements include a new zebra crossing at the junction of Eddington Avenue and Milne Avenue and a new parallel crossing for pedestrians and cyclists on Turing Way at The Ridgeway. The crossings have been introduced to enhance safety, improve accessibility and make it easier for people to travel around the neighbourhood on foot or by bike.
The investment forms part of the University of Cambridge’s ongoing commitment to creating a walkable, sustainable and inclusive community. The new crossings also respond to feedback from residents and stakeholders seeking improved pedestrian facilities across Eddington.
These latest transport improvements help support Eddington’s vision as a place where active travel is prioritised and everyday journeys can be made safely and conveniently.
