POSTPONED: Beer garden to pop up at Eddington

In light of the current situation with COVID-19, we have made the decision to postpone the Eddington Beer Garden event on 27-28 March for the safety of all guests, residents and staff. We will be looking to secure a new date in the near future.

A pop-up outdoor Beer Garden in Eddington’s Market Square is arriving for one weekend only!

Open to all on 27-28 March 2020, the Eddington Beer Garden will serve a choice of beers, spirits, wines and soft drinks within the surroundings of this fresh and intriguing space. The event follows the success of the autumn Eddington Craft Beer and Gin Festival at the Storey’s Field Centre.

A selection of Cambridge’s finest independent food vans including The Cook’s Nest, Waffle & Co, Pigcasso’s and Pimp My Fish will serve food throughout the event to satisfy guests’ taste buds. There will also be live musical entertainment from local acts such as Ellie Dixon, Just Tom & Pete and Datum Plane for a fun atmosphere to shake off those winter blues.

Eddington is the new community in Cambridge developed by the University of Cambridge.  Located just two miles north-west of the city centre, Eddington’s market square is a central meeting point with a range of community facilities nearby including the Storey’s Field Centre, Sainsbury’s supermarket, University of Cambridge Primary School, sports pitches and parklands for the wider community to explore.

Heather Topel, Project Director of the North West Cambridge Development, University of Cambridge commented “The Eddington Beer Garden is a great opportunity for our residents and the wider community to meet and socialise whilst enjoying food, beverage and entertainment from local independent traders and performers. It is the first of many events that we have planned for 2020 under our “pop-up” theme, and we invite our friends, neighbours and colleagues to enjoy this event and be part of our community.”

Jemma Crane, Co-Founder of the Eddington Craft Beer and Gin Festival, added: “With a passion for community events and Cambridge, we created the Eddington Craft Beer and Gin Festival which has been successfully running at Storey’s Field Centre for the past two years. We are delighted to work with North West Cambridge Development on an evolution of the concept which gets us all outdoors as the eagerly awaited Springtime arrives.”

The Eddington Beer Garden will be open 4pm-11pm on Friday 27 March 2020 and 12noon-11pm on Saturday 28 March 2020. Entry is free but guests are encouraged to register in advance to receive a complimentary branded eco cup as a souvenir of this one-off event.
